Prime Suspect on NBC

Prime Suspect is one of the most underrated show. It's really good. It is set in New York city with a very strong yet flawed female lead. It's a great show. I do see why a show like that is not mainstream. How many shows with a female lead (in a role that is traditionally male) is a major hit on television. Put it simply, how many shows with a female lead are among the most popular on television?

The actors are very good but I just feel that there are too many of them. They try to give as much screen time as they can to the most people but the problem with is that in some episodes you see one character as a major part of the show and on another episode that same character is almost invisible and has next to nothing to do or say. You just can't fit everybody into a story in just over 40 minutes.

Chuck Vs. the Wedding Planner - Season 4 Episode 21

Flashback - Sarah as a child is selling "girl scout"-type cookies door to door as a scam for her dad, Jack. Sarah hops into Jack's car with her take of $84.00. Jack reminds her that once she knows all the cons, she'll never be the sucker. Sarah gets her cut and Jack asks her what she wants to do with it, Sarah replies that she wants to take an adventure with him: Just the two of them.

Dad drops her off and Sarah invites him in; Dad reminds her that her grandmother isn't too happy with her right now.

Present day - Sarah and Chuck are meeting with the wedding planner, Daphne, who asks if Sarah's father is attending the wedding. She says he will not be attending and cuts off Chuck's explanation saying the guest list looks great as-is. Daphne asks if they're ready to move forward. They agree no more changes are necessary and write out the check for $23,230.00, handing it over to Daphne.

Morgan looks at the plan with Chuck and reminds him that red and black are Socialist colors and Casey won't attend. Morgan exits as Sarah enters, saying he's got a big day planned for Casey at the Buy More. Sarah suggests that they call Daphne to see what she thinks about the wedding colors; only to find out that the line has been disconnected. They go to the address on Daphne's business card and realize they've been conned. Sarah exclaims that she should have seen it coming because she asked for money up front. In only moments, both Chuck and Sarah become angry and decide that Daphne chose the wrong couple to con.

Back at Castle, Sarah and Chuck are trying to track down Daphne's real identity using the Castle database and are coming up empty handed. Chuck suggests asking Beckman for help and Sarah shoots down the idea. Sarah is upset because she was raised by a con-man and got taken anyway. Realizing that they haven't explored every option, an idea appears to come to Sarah.

In Miami, FL, Sarah's dad is talking to a group of Asian businessmen in an empty lot, trying to make a deal when Sarah interrupts. Sarah admits to Jack that she has been conned, but leaves out that she is getting married. Jack does not recognize the wedding planner's name but asks why Sarah doesn't use her contacts at the CIA, shocking Sarah. Turns out Jack pick-pocketed his own daughter. Jack admits that he's surprised that she's turned out so well - but also a bit proud, too. Jack tells Sarah that if she doesn't have the authority, to pretend she does. She rushes off, leaving Jack to wonder what has been going on with his daughter in the two years since he's seen her last.

Back at the Buy More, Casey and Alex reveal that today is the day Alex's mother, Kathleen, will discover that Casey is still alive. Casey tells them it isn't going to happen. Casey turns his back on them and in walks Kathleen, much to everyone's surprise. On the way out, Kathleen sees Casey, although Casey doesn't realize it.

In Castle, Sarah asks Chuck to fake a flash on Daphne to convince Beckman to allow them to use more resources to hunt down Daphne. Chuck is not convinced, but agrees, thinking that Sarah's father has had a bad influence on her.

Jack is shown outside of Sarah and Chuck's apartment with Sarah's driver's license in hand. He peers through their window and realizes that she and Chuck live together. He pulls out a pick from his pocket and is on the verge of breaking in when he is caught by Awesome (Devon). Jack introduces himself as Sarah's father and shakes Awesome's hand... and the con begins. Jack asks Awesome if he does any rock-climbing, based on Awesome's firm-gripped handshake. Awesome apologizes and Jack says he was going to surprise Sarah, but they're not home. Awesome tells Jack he's on Baby-Duty and Jack replies, exclaiming he'd be happy to help out! Awesome, looking confused, follows Jack back into he and Ellie's own apartment.

Back in Castle, Sarah and Chuck are talking to Beckman on the monitor and Chuck fakes a flash as they're speaking about Daphne. Chuck tells Beckman that she's very dangerous and has dangerous connections. Chuck drops a name that he says is connected to Daphne, "Artur Novokov", who, as it turns out, bombed three US Embassies and Beckman gets very excited, telling Chuck and Sarah that this is the most important piece of intel they've gotten in the last three months. She gets CIA, NSA, and FBI agents in on the call and tells them their new number one target is Daphne. Dead or alive.

Back at Awesome and Ellie's with Jack; Awesome nearly lets slip that Sarah and Chuck are getting married, but Jack picks up on the slip and finds the wedding information Awesome tried to cover up. Jack invites himself to stay at Ellie and Awesome's apartment for a while and Awesome texts Chuck with the information. Sarah realizes that her license is missing when Chuck tells her where Jack is. Chuck suggests they tell Jack about the wedding, but Sarah turns him down.

Daphne shows up on one of the FBI files and a video taken a few minutes prior of Daphne getting into a shuttle van is shown. Chuck calls the shuttle company and arranges a pick-up, hoping to find Daphne in the shuttle. Sarah follows after Chuck gets in the van. Chuck cuffs Daphne and she cons him by claiming to the van driver that she's being stalked by her ex-boyfriend. Daphne is pitching a fit and playing up the bit very convincingly.

Beckman tells Casey where to find Daphne; meanwhile Sarah tells Chuck he has to get Daphne off the van immediately. The driver finally stops and lets Chuck and Daphne off the van. Daphne doesn't believe that Chuck and Sarah work for the government and is taken by surprise when she's hit from the side with a net, knocking her over.

Beckman is appalled when she finds out what Chuck and Sarah were up to and suspends both of them. As Chuck is pleading their case to Beckman, telling her how many people Daphne has stolen from, he flashes on some names on a guest list. The Zypher, a portable device carrying Iranian nuclear information is at stake; three brothers from Hungary have been developing it and will be in Los Angeles for a wedding that Daphne has scammed. Beckman doesn't buy it and orders them NOT to pursue anything or anyone until they have re-earned the trust they've lost.

Flashback - Sarah as a child, playing in her room with balls under teacups. She is parroting her father's line: "Once you know all the cons, you'll never be a sucker." She overhears her grandmother fighting with her father in the front yard. Her grandmother tells Jack he is not welcome there anymore and does not allow them to say good-bye. Sarah sneaks out to her dad and gives him her piggy bank telling him she doesn't want to live with Grandma anymore. They leave together.

Jack is back at Sarah's apartment now, pouring a drink for her and apologizing that his advice didn't pan out. Sarah tells Jack about the three Hungarian brothers and the Zypher; and her problem. Jack suggests they make the wedding reception happen and Sarah doubts that it is possible, but Jack gathers Sarah, Morgan, and Chuck to educate them on how they will be able to pull off the con. The reception was supposed to have happened at a location that has already been booked out by a bat mitzvah, but the times are different.

Sarah shows up at the reception location acting as a bat-mitzvah coordinator telling hotel personnel that the bat mitzvah theme is "Hungarian Wedding". Chuck, Morgan, and Jack come in with the supplies for the wedding reception and they begin setting it all up.

Casey pops in and finds out what they're up to; he tries to stop them, but decides to help instead. Jack sets up Casey up as the bouncer as guests begin to arrive from the Hungarian wedding party. Chuck plays DJ and watches for the three brothers to show up. Sarah orders Chuck to "keep stalling". Jack shares a tender moment with Sarah and confesses that she and Chuck are getting married and how happy she is with Chuck. Then the three brothers show up for the wedding. Sarah gets the first brother into the back and knocks him out, quickly followed by Morgan who lures the second brother back. Sarah promptly knocks him out, too. Casey targets the third brother, but spots Kathleen in the crowd. Jack jumps to take care of the third brother while Kathleen follows Casey out of the crowd, into a hallway and calls him by his real name, Alex. He turns to face her. She says she followed him from the Buy More.

Kathleen expresses her confusion to Casey/Alex trying to figure out how and why he left her so many years ago. He tells her he can't talk to her about it right now. He tells her that she needs to leave. Kathleen tells her that their daughter, Alex, claimed that Casey/Alex is some sort of hero working for the government, but Kathleen doubts it. Chuck is speaking to Casey/Alex through his earpiece urging him that they have to leave right away. Kathleen tells Casey/Alex that she will go if Casey/Alex promises to tell their daughter, Alex, the truth. Kathleen leaves.

Jack, Sarah, and Chuck are searching the three brothers for the Zypher device and none of them have it. Jack realizes the brothers are decoys.

Meanwhile, the bride and groom are cutting into the fake cake and realize it is made of styrofoam. The father of the bride grabs Morgan demanding to know what is going on. Father of the bride pulls a gun on Morgan and tells them they will talk outside. Jack, Casey, and Sarah overhear them taking Morgan to the parking garage. Gunfire is exchanged and the father of the bride turns the gun on Morgan. There is a standoff... Jack comes out of the shadows to con the father of the bride and get him to let Morgan go. Morgan is released and the father of the bride drops the gun. Sarah and Jack exchange a glance and a wink.

Kathleen has witnessed the entire scene from her car in the garage. Casey sees her as it is all wrapping up.

Beckman is once again laying down the law to Sarah and Chuck. Chuck promises to never fake a flash again and Sarah apologizes for their behavior. Beckman tells them they are no longer suspended, but, clearly still angry, dismisses them for now.

Chuck and Jack are at Chuck and Sarah's apartment, Jack is packing to leave and Chuck reminds him that Sarah is on her way and will be there soon. Jack zips up his bag and continues to leave; Chuck invites him to stay for the wedding, Jack declines. Chuck begs him to stay for dinner, at least, he agrees.

Casey and Kathleen are speaking privately in Casey's apartment. Kathleen agrees that its easier now that she knows about Casey and Kathleen tells Casey she is happy for him -- he has everything he has always wanted.

Chuck returns from shoping for dinner ingredients only to find out that Jack has left anyway. Chuck is upset for Sarah. She repeats his oft taught line - "Once you know all the cons, you can never be a sucker.".

Flashback to Sarah's childhood one last time, to Jack dropping Sarah off back at her grandparents while she sleeps. But he keeps her piggy bank.

As Sarah is straightening up at the apartment, she sees her piggy bank on her bed. Left by her father. And a note written to her. He never spent a dime of the money she had in the piggy bank and only added to it. His note says that she can have the wedding of her dreams. Sarah pulls the cork and begins pulling out roll after roll of $100 dollar bills.

Prime Suspect Premiere

NBC's Prime Suspect is amazing, one of the most promising shows with a female lead that I have seen so far. I say promising because so far only one episode has aired but this is a show that I can see doing very well on syndication on networks likes Lifetime. There is a lot of talent of that show, you will see many familiar faces. The best thing about it is still the lead character a woman who is constantly disrespected -and that is putting it lightly, streetwalkers get more respect from those guy than she does- yet she keeps going, trying to do her job and be the best at what she does. Sadly enough, neither critics nor viewers like this show, I'll keep an eye on the ratings to see how its standing with the viewers evolves.

Chuck Vs. the Muuurder - Season 4 Episode 19

Chuck Vs the Muuurder

I have never seen so much blood on broadcast television. It's only tolerable because it looks really fake but I don't think it was necessary to show a murder like this on a show like Chuck.

The Team

The show starts with Beckman putting Chuck in charge of finding someone just like him to be the new Intersect. Everybody on the team, including director Bentley reports to him. The CIA sent him a list of three candidate who are the closest match to him. Lewis, Brody, Josie and Damian are competing to be the next Chuck. But of course everything goes wrong.

The Brodster aka Brody

Damian

Josie

Lewis
Spoiler ahead

The four candidates go through physical testing, psychological evaluations, cultural knowledge. In the end and without any surprise Chuck chooses the Brodster aka Brody. But right after Chuck sends the good news to Brody on his phone he is muuurdered right inside of castle by a mysterious murderer whose face we do not see.

A gruesome murder indeed but this it need to be so graphic and loud. You could literally hear the knife entering Brody's chest, awful. And Chuck slipping and falling on the blood, gross. And the dead body awful. The actor who pas Lewis delivers an awful performance for lack of a better word, he was just bad. I was reading earlier about how Chuck's production suffered budget cuts because they needed to keep the show's budget down in order to for NBC to renew it for a fourth season and these cuts can be seen with the quality of the visual effects.

Meanwhile Ellie is still not getting any sleep as she works on her dad's computer. We also get to see that what she is doing is being monitored by the director Bentley.

Meanwhile Chuck and Sarah interrogate everybody at castle after a bomb goes off and cuts the power they are trying to find out who is Brody's murderer. Funny how this episode reminds me of USA's Psych, "muuurder" that's exactly how Shawn Spencer says it. Of course they all deny it and then Chuck and Sarah find a bomb attached to the chair were the interrogated agents were sitting.

On another note, Jeff and Lester stole the  LargeMart mascot which happens to be a cute pig named Kevin Bacon, in retaliation LargeMart employee kidnap big Mike who was dressed as BM, the Buy More mascot. It turns out the LargeMart started a promotion right after the one Buy More started.

Four different bombs explode down there castle will be needed some major repairs.

The CIA has decided to no longer try to have a new intersect.

It turns out Damian was sent in to kill Chuck. By whom/? and why ? Because Vivian Volkoff hired him to bomb Castle.

At the end of the episode we see the transformer computer aka Stephen Bartowski's computer scanning Ellie's face while she's sleeping after scanning the room to see if she was alone and then proceeding to unlock agent X-file.

I was afraid people would start dying like flies. But actually they only killed two people I was hoping to see more of the candidates it really looked promising at first but overall it was not a great episode. A slow day in Burbank.

The Cape Cancelled

I was the pilot for The Cape. And it took me only a few minutes into the show to know for sure that it would be canceled. Judging by the special effects and the number of recognizable actors in it it was obvious that The Cape's demise would come rather sooner than later. I won't even say that it's sad because in theory it could have been a good show. But once again, I am not an entertainment professional, I'm not a filmmaker, or a script writer and certainly not an actor but once again it was crystal clear to me that the pilot had failure written all over it. If you didn't get a chance to watch this show, don't worry you did not miss much. The last episode of the first and only season will air online only.

For a taste of what I had to suffer through see the trailer below.

RIP "The Cape" at least the villains had some character.
